Las Pilas is a tranquil and peaceful little village about 10 kms away from Juan Santa Maria airport, in Alajuela. It is nestled amongst coffee plantations with an altitude of 1300 meters, and enjoys a lovely climate all year around. It is close from the city of Alajuela, San Jose and the Poas and Barva volcanoes.

It also has bee keeping for honey, dairy products, poultry and pig farming. This fascinating province is known for its excellent climate that is said to be the best of the World.
