Bahia Gigante is located some 9kms south of Playa Naranjo, in the Nicoya Peninsula in the province of Puntarenas, just one hour away from the city of Puntarenas. Puntarenas itself is no more than 45 minutes away from the International Airport of San Jose in Alajuela.

This isolated little place town is ideally located with flamboyant view of the Gulf and its myriads of little islands that can all be visited by boast. It is possible to go kayaking between the islands, and to camp on deserted beaches. One island exhibit the ruins of an old prison, others are wonderful for snorkeling, or enjoying a dreaming white sanded beach.

There is no transportation leading to Bahia Gigante, you will need a 4x4 however this is what makes this place unique and untouched. People looking for serious adventure are drawn to this region for the range of activities it offers; diving, snorkeling, sports fishing, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking and of course swimming.

You may go on boat trips, or simply enjoy the view while dining in one of the wonderful restaurants offering fresh sea food. There are some very interesting wildlife refuges in this area, and some wonderful water falls too. It is literally teeming with wildlife; monkeys and birds will make sure that you wake up on time every morning!
