Puerto Caldera Costa Rica Real Estate

Puerto Caldera, a very important port, is located in the Province of Puntarenas, close to the city of the same name. The little town of Caldera welcomes huge ships from all over the world, including majestic cruisers, and is vital to the trade of Costa Rica with the rest of the world.

Caldera is conveniently located, being less than two hours away from the capital of Costa Rica San Jose, and just 45 minutes from the famous Jaco Beach and its incredible array of restaurants from all over the world, bars, discos, supermarkets, etc.

The town itself though is quite pleasant and its surroundings are lovely and quite unspoilt, with lush forest and lots of wildlife and some impressive cliff from where the sunsets are absolutely outstanding! 
Many people travel to Puerto Caldera to Parasail, the whole area indeed provides a whole load of activities, from sailing to surfing, to hiking in the jungle or taking boat trips in rivers and get a closer look at the crocodiles! You will be amazed at the amount of Red Macaws along this part of the Pacific Coast as well!

Some 10 km away from Puerto Caldera, be sure to visit the Biological Reserve of Carara; in the native language of Huatar, Carara meant Red Macaws. What makes this part so unique is the fusion of the Mesoamerican and Amazonian ecosystems, dry meets humid!  Enjoy 5,242 hectares of jungle with an incredible diversity of flora and fauna; this is a must, you will see many many crocodiles, will also see monkeys, armadillos, peccaries, sloths, boa constrictors, margay cats aoutis and more! It is said that there are still jaguars left in the region but nobody has spotted one for quite some time.

The islands of the islands of Guayabo, Negritos and Los Pajaros form a preserve that has got to be seen and finally, do not miss the heavenly beach of Punta Leona with its white powdered sand and tranquil sea. This is private c community, however it is possible to spend the day there and to use the amenities such as a very good restaurant.

Finally for the avid surfers, while Jaco is quite good, playa Hermosa, a few minutes south of Jaco, is where the action really takes place.

All in all, Caldera and its surrounding are too perfect to be true; proximity of the cities, great beaches, awesome national parks and a port. What more can one possibly want!
