Sabanilla Costa Rica Real Estate

La Sabanilla is a district in the Northeast part of San Jose, in the canton of Montes de Oca. The capital of this canton is San Pedro, lodged between the center of San Jose and the province of Cartago, bordering the canton of Curridabat.

Sabanilla de Montes de Oca is as close as can be to the center of the capital, and more particularly, close to the Mall San Pedro, a shopping magnet built in the 1990s, loved by students and tourists alike, with its myriads of shops, movie theaters, video game shops, tattoo parlors and food courts.

Montes de Oca is also where you have the University of Costa Rica and the University Latina, and a few good private schools; this is therefore a busy, young and fast area, bustling with restaurants and bars. Sabanilla itself however is out and away from the crowd, up in the hills, and it is now considered to be an area of high urban development and residential prestige.

It is by no means a small “Barrio” and is surrounded by Guadalupe, San Ramon de Tres Rios and Lourdes de Montes de Oca.

There is all you need to live in style and comfortably in Sabanilla, lots of green area, shopping, proximity of great malls and cinemas, good restaurants and bars, supermarkets, etc.

It is in the hills of Sabanilla that public transport was first created in San Jose. Today, it is still of a relatively easy access, this depending highly on the time of the day of course!

Sabanilla is definitely a great choice if you want to live by the center of San Jose, but enjoy clean air, nature and space!
